Prima Adventure Challenge – The next one!
Once again, the fun, fearless, females from USA PRO (plus a couple of feisty males) will be taking to the hills and the water in Care International’s latest Prima adventure challenge.

The challenge will take place on June 21^st 2008 in the beautiful southern region of the Lake District National Park. We will start early on the Saturday tasked with completing a tough mountain biking challenge (27km), a canoe relay on beautiful Coniston Water and a 5hr climb up the famous Old Man of Coniston, with the aim to complete the challenge in less than 12 hours.  It took us a whopping 14 hours last time!

Care International works in over 70 contries worldwide to help people overcome poverty. Working in partnership with governments and businesses, the money raised by Care goes directly to communities to tackle deep seated root causes of poverty.

I am incredibly fortunate that my job entails the things I love best – running, fitness, the great outdoors and of course USA PRO!

I am a qualified personal trainer, pilates teacher and yoga instructor, and combine all of these methods of exercise to tailor make fitness programmes for weight loss, body sculpting, postural issues or rehabilitation, and my client base is wide and varied. Two of my better known clients – Michelle Scott Lee and Claire Sweeney both love working out using pilates, and both girls adore USA PRO clothes. Claire and I worked together on a DVD for ‘Weight Watchers’ called ‘Perfect Fit’ and I have made three other DVD’s which you can check out on my website. I always wear USA PRO, because the clothes look fantastic, are always fashionable, wash well and dry super fast! When filming or working on photo shoots, it’s great to know your clothes help you to look your best, and when working out it’s important to feel comfortable, dry and supported.

I have recently finished writing a very exciting new book – called ‘tailor make your body shape’ (to be released this summer) and have just come back from Cyprus where we shot all the photos. I was lucky enough to have some fab new USA PRO gear, and loved the beautiful colours. I particularly love their knee length running trousers and running vests. Last year I had the vest in an amazing green (which I wore to death and can be seen in upcoming issues of ‘Ultra –fit magazine) and my latest version is in a stunning yellow.
I am also loving my new ‘sable’ brown trousers and tops – it’s a really flattering shade of brown, and nice to have a change from black.

USA PRO:gress takes a look at the growing concern over carrier bags and how the new USA PRO 'Bag For Life' encourages you to recycle.

Traditional plastic carrier bags have become synonymous with supermarkets and are almost unavoidable on the high-street. Up to 150,000,000 are used every week in the UK with each one taking over 100 years to biodegrade, fueling the rising problems with Britain’s shortage of land fill sites.

Whilst many companies are now investigating in more eco friendly, bio degradable options and retailers debate following Ireland’s lead by adding a levy to encourage people to recycle, USA PRO are joining the fight to reduce their usage by introducing reusable ‘Bags For Life’ in the new flagship store, just off London’s famous Carnaby St.

Made using a lightweight, woven fabric they are in fact lighter than many modern nylon or polyester fabrics but studier than both and more hard wearing than any other bag fabric such as cotton or jute. As well as being water repellent and machine washable, they are 100% recyclable and can be used time and time again. In fact, we encourage it so when we sat down to design them, we made sure that we included plenty of pockets for a water bottle and keys, a generous handle strap and even an across the body strap for times when you need both hands. The size is ideal for your mid-week shopping trips, laundry or even your gym kit.
